Dam Buster ESO-300-R (End Side Outlet Right)

Changing box gutter direction has been a problem for centuries. Dam Buster now has the easy solutions!

Dam Buster direction change devices use the power of gravity to easily and safely change the direction of water flow in box gutters, then take it to the point of discharge fitted with a Dam Buster rainhead.

All of these amazing devices feature inbuilt on site adjustability to make installation a breeze e.g the TSO-300 ("T" Side Outlet) expands on site and without additional tools to custom fit any incoming box gutter between 300 and 450mm wide. 

They also require minimal clearance (ranging from 50mm to only 70mm below the sole of the box gutter) and are therefore suitable for all situations where a sump won't fit, or where pipe work can't be run within the building.  

Available Designs:

"L" shape - 'End Side Outlet (ESO), (top image on the left) with one box gutter only discharging to the device.  This device sits at the end of a box gutter and is used to change its direction 90 degrees. It requires no sump or internal pipe work or bulkhead to install - the only pipework is the downpipe on the rainhead outside the building. Available ‘left’ (L) or ‘right’ (R) handed*  SKU ESO-XOO-L or R (where XOO is the box gutter size in mm e.g ESO-400-L).

"T" shape - 'T' Side Outlet (TSO), with two box gutters discharging to the device and then to a single outlet point.  This device also requires no sump or internal pipe work or bulkhead to install and the only pipework is the downpipe on the rainhead outside the building. Very useful for 90 degree side outlets from box gutters.  SKU TSO-XOO e.g TSO-200

"T" shape - Corner Side Outlet (CSO). This enables two box gutters at the corner of a building to discharge to a single rainhead (for example, on a Hip roof) SKU CSO-XOO-L or R e.g CSO-300-R. Also requires no sump or internal pipe work or bulkhead to install, and the only pipework is the downpipe on the rainhead outside the building.  You can read more specific information about the CSO on our TECHNICAL DOWNLOADS page.  

"X" shape - Cruciform Side Outlet (XSO). Accepts three box gutters discharging to a single outlet device (for example, where the device is located at the party walls in a row of terrace style houses, having hip ended roofs at the front or rear parapet wall)  SKU XSO-XOO e.g XSO-300.  Also requires no sump or internal pipe work or bulkhead to install, and the only pipework is the downpipe on the rainhead outside the building.

* To determine LEFT or RIGHT for ESO and CSO devices, just imagine you are in a small boat travelling down the box gutter with the flow and wanting to turn LEFT or RIGHT at the device.

Used in series or in combination, virtually any box gutter directional discharge problem can be easily solved, even in a retrofit situation, by using these revolutionary Dam Buster products. 

All Dam Buster Side and Corner Outlet devices are pre-engineered and sized, and are designed to be used in combination with a correctly sized Dam Buster rainhead so as to achieve compliance.

We do not make custom versions of these products but all of them are adjustable on site for varying applications - please refer to our Product Technical Statement for specific information about what is possible.

So long as the overflow device and a Dam Buster Rainhead (in combination with correct downpipe sizing) are selected in accordance with the total design flow rate in the box gutter/s from the Dam Buster rainhead design table, the Dam Buster direction change device automatically has sufficient hydraulic capacity for any allowable combination of flow rates.

They might look simple but all of these devices are complex, fully engineered, tested and certified, patent protected products which fully comply with the conformance and compliance requirements of the National Construction Code.  This means they can be selected and certified with absolute confidence in all areas of Australia.
