The DWV Socket Reducer is a key component in any Drainage, Waste, and Vent (DWV) system, designed to effectively reduce pipe size within a run. It provides a seamless transition from a larger to a smaller pipe diameter, ensuring a reliable and efficient flow of wastewater in domestic or commercial plumbing applications.

Key Features:

• Socket reducer design – the larger end fits inside an existing pipe, while the smaller end accepts a pipe fitting inside it
• Available in a range of sizes from 50mm to 225mm
• Designed specifically to accommodate proper ventilation and flow — always ensure vent points are appropriately installed
• Pale-grey colour for standard DWV system identification

Manufactured for compatibility with other DWV components including pipe reducers and LITs (Level Invert Tapers) – each has a distinct application

Material & Construction:
Made from PVC-U (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride), this socket reducer offers:

• High resistance to corrosion and chemical degradation
• Excellent hydraulic performance
• Resistance to biological fouling (micro- and macro-organisms)
• Toughness, durability, and light handling weight
• Simple, solvent cement (SCJ) jointing for secure installation

Installation Notes:

• Use solvent cement joints (SCJ) for strong, watertight connections
• Allow 24 hours for joints to fully cure and reach maximum mechanical strength
• Always follow the PVC-U installation guide for best results

• Suitable for both above-ground and underground installations

Note: While traditionally called "90-degree" fittings, most DWV fittings are manufactured at 85–88 degrees to promote proper flow and prevent stagnation in drainage systems.

• Suitable for temperatures between 0°C and 50°C
• Conforms to AS/NZS 1260 – PVC-U pipes and fittings for DWV applications
